It was a steaming hot day in AV Squad studios when Col. Bruce Hampton and the Codetalkers schleped their gear to the 8th floor of the Studio 54 building but that didn’t stop the band from getting dressed to the nines and laying down an even hotter rendition of the song “Plate Hot.” In between takes, Col. Bruce Hampton wowed the film crew with his uncanny, EPS-like parlor tricks: guessing symbols, reading mines, that sort of thing. Afterwards, the band and crew traveled to the Upper East Side to eat at Jacques-Imo’s – One of the band’s favorite in-town haunts when visiting NYC – Where the plates were also hot.
