Load-in With Brothers Past at Paradise Rock Club

I took a drive to Boston, MA to meet Brothers Past guitarist Tom Hamilton. I wanted to know more about load-in and soundcheck and Tom was nice enough to invite me to their show and see it first-hand. At around 4PM, the band arrived in their van, with trailer in-town, at Paradise Rock Club. First out of the van was keyboardist Tom McKeon who instantly remembered me from the night I spent at the band’s house, in December 2004, after RAQ performed at Philadelphia’s The Fire. Tom was next to emerge and the two of us headed inside.

I videotaped the band’s crew loading in their gear and setting up the stage. After this was done, Tom joined me in the loge level of Paradise to describe the load-in procedure and the goals of a day-to-day soundcheck. Afterwards, Tom promos their new album This Feeling’s Called Goodbye and sets-up their soundcheck performance of “Leave The Light On.”

You can find that video on In The Band as well.
