I really have to give it up to Keller Williams who after performing to a sold-out Irving Plaza left the venue around 3AM, got a bite to eat, and headed over to the Hard Rock Café to meet me for a closed-set shoot at 5AM. Yup. 5AM. The Hard Rock would only rent me the space on a Sunday between the hours of 5AM and 11AM. Ridiculous but we did it and I thank Keller and his crew for making the effort.
Host, Allison Becker, sits down with Keller to find out how he became a one-man, jam band. Keller defines bassist, Victor Wooten, as a primary inspiration for his live, looping techniques and assures viewers he’s no Milli Vanilli. The duo also talks about Keller’s new album Home, what it was like to record locally, his radio show Keller’s Cellar and “butt ass nipple.”
