Continuing from Part I of the interview, Eddie Kramer talks about today’s musical quest for the sound of yesterday. He offers up some techniques to do this: like, learn how to play your fucking instrument! Eddie goes on to encourage person-on-person dynamics and performing in a group as opposed to holing up in your mother’s basement with ProTools and releasing your self-fulling masterpiece. Afraid to perform with others in fear of bumping heads over musical differences? No problem! Eddie thinks that makes for even better music. “You don’t get great music in a vacuum.”
